NOW Foods

I have a healthy obsession with NOW Foods! They are at the top of my list of favorite companies. Since becoming a non-processed food eating family, I've turned to NOW for all of my supplements. In the beginning, I was still using my normal brands for pre and post workout meals and for vitamins and minerals throughout the day. But then wham! Wake up call. I realized that even though I was eating as clean as possible, I was still putting all of this junk in my body that I could hardly even pronounce, let alone know what it was doing to my body. My preworkout had dyes in it that are banned in other countries and my post workout shake had acesulfame potassium and other artificial ingredients in it. Trust me, I did some research on Ace-K and it wasn't pretty. Pretty sickening to think that our government doesn't give a rat's patooty about regulating what is safe for consumption, although I am aware they like to claim otherwise. I'm not a fool, though, and I won't be one of their little lab rats, and I also won't be one of the ones out there blowing buku's of moolah for supplements that contain more artificial fillers than it does actual beneficial proteins, etc. I now buy my multi vitamins, glutamine, protein powder, everything that gets me through the day from NOW Foods. Nothing fake with this company. You get the real deal. They even sell foods such as sunflower seeds that are non-GMO, which I love! I tried this Raw Energy Nut Mix that I received as part of a prize I won from another blog, and it is YUMMY! It has raisins, pumpkin seeds, almonds, pecans, walnuts, and cashews. Great for a midday snack to get you through the day.

If you haven't already done so, I highly suggest you take a look at that "Other Ingredients" list on your protein powder. You'll be surprised at what's in some of those top-rated, highly recommended brands out there. Be sure to take a look at NOW Foods for your supplement needs in the future.

Below is a picture of all the great products from NOW Foods I won from a contest on another blog. I loved each and every one of them, including the backpack with it's super soft padding!! They were generous enough to gift me with Chocolate Protein Powder, Eve Multi Vitamins, Energy Nut Mix, and 3 boxes of their Slender Sticks, which are these awesome little packets of powder that add vitamins and all natural flavor to your boring water!

March Against Monsanto

Saturday was the nationwide March Against Monsanto.  My little family participated in our local Dallas march.  It felt so great to be a part of something that means so much to us.  My sons were both chanting "no mo gmo's!"  and "Monsanto's got to go!"  I hoped in doing this march, that I could help them understand that what some people do is wrong, and you don't have to just be a little sheep and accept it when it's something like this that harms people every day.  If you don't know about Monsanto, google it.  He is the mastermind behind all of the genetically modified foods in America.  The same foods that cause serious illnesses such as cancer.  Since I have started buying organic foods for my family, I've seen huge improvements in temperament and behavior (and weight loss for myself).  As we cut out things like gluten, I'm hoping to see major improvements in my oldest son who has several asperger's symptoms.  I've read really positive things about the link between gluten and autism, and I remain hopeful that this will help him improve in many aspects.

Here are a couple pics from our march....

Yoga

Today, I'm feeling compelled to take up yoga.  I keep hearing all these wonderful things about it, and just today I read an article about Jennifer Aniston (I'd kill to look as good as her) crediting yoga for her awesome gams.  I haven't been able to locate a yoga studio nearby that seemed like something I'd like, but I'm def on the hunt for one now.  Here's hoping I can become a Yogi soon!

I LOVE Sprouts Farmers Market!

I drive about 15 minutes out of my way to go to my nearest Sprouts.  It's inconvenient but entirely worth it.  They always have the best clean, raw, organic foodstuffs and home and healthcare products.  And, they are usually at the best prices anywhere!  I have found several products on sale for much cheaper than other local grocers.  I should also mention Wednesdays are their double ad day each week.  You can combine the previous and current weekly promotions for ultimate savings.  Currently, I'm extremely thrilled about their 25% off sale on all vitamins and body care products!  There are a few things I've been wanting to try but didn't want to splurge too much.  Now is the perfect opportunity.  I hope you are fortunate enough to live near a Sprouts!!

Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt Popsicles

My sons and I ate our first Yasso frozen greek yogurt popsicles last night.  It was nearly 90 degrees in Texas yesterday, so they really hit the spot!  We tried strawberry and blueberry, but they have several other tasty flavors as well.  At only 80 calories per popsicle, you can't go wrong.  These babies melt in your mouth.  So yummy!!  What a great treat for the kiddos, too.  Healthy and delicious! Something you can feel good about feeding your kids when they ask for goodies. They have smoothies too. Take a look at their  flavors by clicking on the image below:

Dr. Bronner's Castile Soaps

There are no words for how much I love these soaps!  My only regret is that I wasn't introduced to them sooner.  They are simply amazing.  I wash my face with the peppermint soap each night, and it leaves my skin feeling like i just left the spa.  I mean, it is glowing!!  I cannot believe how much money has been wasted trying products like Creme de la Mer, only to feel like an idiot for thinking it'd actually work.  Hundreds of wasted dollars.  Not to mention, who knows what was actually in all of those products?  Dr. Bronner's soaps are organic and can be used for all sorts of things as listed on the bottle and website.  I found mine at Sprout's and Target.  I seriously want them all!!
